i re-ran that run this past sunday, east on via de la valle (north county fair exit) all the way to palomar mountian, and then follow the signs. i read the signs at 330 in the morning in the dark, so dont worry you can read them. when eyoull eventually make it up the the south grade side if you follow the signs right. once at the top, turn right and go down the east grade side where we stoped to see the lake. at the T - stop go left (this is where eddy and i got sperated/lost), then take Mesa Grande (on your right, and alot more fun) and if you follow that road to the end it will take you to the 78 highway right where the dudley's bakery is. you can turn left to get to julian or right to go back towards the 15. If you stay on the 78 it will take you to the free way but ifyou take the 78 to the 67 west youll cross highland valley road at a stoplight, where you would turn left and stay on that road till you reach pomorado road. you can get onto the 15 north only from that point or turn left on pomorado and then right on rancho bernardo road and hit the 15 south. hope that helps, i might make a run up there agian sometime this weekend when the roads arent cold and theres some sunlight. I must say, at the top of the mountian the veiw is spectacular at 4 in the morning, the hills just poke throught clouds, and the sunrise over lake hensaw is pretty nice too.
