That is great Tyrocx Hopefully you will keep your S or keep it in one piece lol.
I have been an owner of my S since the early 2000. Still a 13 yr old car but have not even thought of getting rid of it SIts around collecting dust lol.

I know there is a guy in SoCal Boards that has surpassed 250K already. I think you can find his personal thread on the Photos section of S2KI. Gavin as wall is well over 150k I believe.
As for my S, it is just a little over 100K. I think I stopped driving it as a daily when I got married back in 09. that is when I got my 90k service done.

S2k is the perfect car for San Diego! Your car sounds like a great find.
I'm just a quarter inch under 6' 4" (and 185 lbs) and have been fine with the stock seat. Originally I spent a few hours looking into seat lowering options, but I didn't want to spend the money. I took my similarly tall friend's advice and just stayed with the stock seat and I've been perfectly happy. I can heel and toe fine. Street, auto-x and track driving have been fine. My helmet just clears the convertible top with a finger width to spare.
I did remove the sun visors. They're pretty thick, removing them gives you a little more upward visibility.
My feet are size 11 or 12, nothing too large. I drive 99% of the time with no shoes, as any shoe is a tight fit under there. I don't think seat lowering would help this much, though. For auto-x and track I wear some tight fitting shoes (rock climbing shoes, actually).
I'd really like to sit in a car with lowering rails to see what it's like. I live nearby, in Carmel Valley. If you find a way to lower the seat let me know so I can sit in it!
Good luck.
