Default Mechanic Recommendation

Hey guys,

Unfortunately the guys at Hontech in North Park have screwed with my car for the last time. I am in a major bind and have numerous burnt exhaust valves, guides, etc and definitely need cylinder head work. I am looking for a trusted mechanic who can do the repairs and also determine whether or not the cause was from the valves being gapped too tightly, as it was Hontech that did that valve adjustments 15,000 miles ago.

Need recommendations asap, car is sitting at Hontech with it's head off =(

Thanks in advance!
Ben

If it's an S2000, GO TO THE DEALER!!! People, seriously now, I can not stress it enough.

NO MATTER WHAT ELUDE TELLS YOU... DO NOT GO TO DELACRUZ!!!

Fillmatic,

While I appreciate your input, I don't find it very helpful. I have gone to numerous dealers, especially Pacific Honda for service and found no more than monkeys working for them.

On a simple oil change, they don't know to use the right filter and actually left my oil cap off during a change. So you'll excuse me if I say, I'm not looking to going back. Now if you have specific recommendations on a dealer that you have had good service with, please pass it along.

Thanks in advance,
Ben

I always hear that JC Service is a good place to go.

I've gone to pacific honda twice to have actual service done. There's a difference between their lube shop and their actual service shop. The guys in the lube shop are not allowed to touch my car. There's two actual mechanics that do service to s2000's (What I was told) and the same guy has worked on my cars every time since 2002. Never had any problems. I've been there to get a new motor, new diff and all sorts of stuff.

fillmatic,

thanks for the clarification. since going to the dealer really means an arm and a leg, do you know the name of the mechanic who's been working on your car for the past 4 years?

I've had service done at their regular shop and was not pleased with it either.
