P.S. this trip would make most sense in mid- to late October. If you go earlier, it's still too hot in Death Valley. If you go later, there's a risk that 120 will get closed for the winter.

I posted this request (looking for roadtrip suggestions) in several regional forums and I got some great feedback. Thanks to all.

I took it all and collected it into one doc. Then I took the info in the doc and put it on a Google Map. In case you ever need such a thing... here it is.
