If you're changing the filter too, a full fill is a bit more than 5 quarts. But that's all I ever put in, and just top off every week or two as needed.

When I first switched to Mobil1 I burned quite a bit of oil. Mine got so low once that I had a rattle noise coming from my motor! I check my oil atleast once a week now. It seems to use 1 qt. or less between oil changes now. FYI, I bought my S w/ 55 k(owner was using castrol syn.) I've used Mobil1 ever since and we're at 77k.

.....I've got 41,000+ miles and have done every oil change since I bought the car new and have always put in 5.5qts, with about a .5qt adding between oil changes....

i have to add about a qt between oil changes and i check the oil at every fill up

i never lost any oil. but i think a little is okay. but alot is something you should look into.
