Default Home in San Diego

Hey guys,

Looking to purchase a home in the SD area and I was wondering which cities would be considered more 'upscale'. I have lived in OC for the majority of my life, so SD will be a whole new experience for me. I'm looking for a city comparable to Irvine, Newport Coast, etc...

OC has its share of bad cities like Santa Ana, Anaheim, Westminster, Garden Grove, etc which is what I want to stay away from.

Input please.

If it was me, I would pick San Elijo or La jolla.

Except for oceanside, just about any city on the coast is going to be decent, but the most similar to newport beach would be the solana beach/del mar/carmel mountain/la jolla zone. Or even rancho santa fe, but if you can afford rancho santa fe, can i get a ride in your ferrari?
