A famous quote by my older brother, "throw way, buy new one." Okay, that was gay.
Hey Tim, I suggest you part it out and sell. 2 years is a very long time to wait for a car. The future of the S2000 doesn't look like it's leaning towards performance, but more of a user friendlier car. To many cars, to much competition. 2 years will reveal alot, especially the E90 M3.

Sell it.. it's just a car.. If you go to Japan, you have the chance to own so many better cars for far less than here in the states. Plus when you return the new super cars will finally be released... By that time the S will be close to 8 years old...

M Power!!!
If you don't like the E90 M3 you can get another S. Plus you are sure to find some garage queen or you can get a new one.
Part it and sell it.
I am going to miss you and Ella.

if you sell it, definitely part it out. show the sd crew, and me the list. *dibs on the exhaust since peter doesn't have an 04* sorry peter
but, where do you go after 2 years, back to sd, i don't know how the military works, or where you actually live. when you are in japan, will you still have a house in sd?
anyways, if it were any other car, i would sell it right now. but since it is an S it makes the decision a little bit tougher. lets see, you come back in september 08 right. your car is an 04 right, so today that would be the equivalent of buying a nice condition 02 since the new years is right around the corner. those go for about low 20k to the high teens. an 04 as it is is going for low/mid 20k already depending on condition, so you will give up some money if you store it, but not as much as you would think. so, that said, the decision is up to you.
peace,
mark d.

Thanks for all the advice guys/gals... it's a tough decision to make partially because I still have more stuff I want to buy for the car..
I will be back in 2 years and I will still have my house. My plan is to buy another home when I get back with a 3 car garage. I would love to keep my S as a weekend driver and to take one of the garage spots.
I have to really sit down and make a decision after I find out where I'll be stationed.
I will definately post the parts list to SD first if I go that route.

If you are worry about depreciation, then part it out and sell it. Otherwise, I would keep the S if you still have plan for it. Just put the car on jack stands, cover it and have someone start it up twice a month or so (I'm sure you know the proper way to store a car). Maybe during that 2 years period, you will be back a few times to take it for a spin.
Not matter what your decision maybe, you and Ella will be missed. Just hate to see you guys go...
