Friday, July 6th
Just curious if anyone is interested in getting together this Friday night for some good times? I've been wanting to hit up this spot I know of near the Oceanside Pier for some shots, and my buddy suggested we do it this Friday.
If anyone is interested, post up and I'll get you more info.
We'll probably meet somewhere near San Marcos or something, shoot across the 78, take the coast highway up to Oceanside and then hit up the photoshoot spot near the pier.
Post up!
Meeting spot: Most likely the In-N-Out in San Marcos off San Marcos Blvd off the 78.
(Alternative - Chevron Gas Station off Palomar Airport Road near the 5)
Time: 10:15pm at the In-N-Out. If you'd rather just meet us at the pier we will be there by 11:00pm.
(Why so late? I don't like when people stand around or are in the shots we're trying to make)
MY PHONE NUMBER:
619.937.8730
Call me if you're trying to meet up and are late/lost/anything

So far I got about 4-5 including me that are pretty much down to go. I don't want too many since I will be the only photographer, but whatever.

Is the parking garage available at night? If so, we may hit that place up too. Looks nice.

Just FYI, when I say "late night" I really mean LATE NIGHT. I'm thinking of meeting up around 11 or 12 that night, because I want to take pictures on the beach, and if we go any sooner it'll be too early and probably have people on the beach still.
We could always do the cruise first and take pictures after if you guys prefer. I was thinking we could hit up Palomar Mountain.

I use a point-n-shoot. Nothing special but it gets the job done for sure. For a $700 camera I got for $400 on black friday, I'm not complaining.
Sony DSC-H5 I think... It's a nice camera, and I know how to use it modifying the aperture and exposure time and whatnot for a good picture.
You're more than willing to come out, I'd love to get some techniques from you and some more hints about aperture and exposure time. Here's some examples...

how well lit is this area that you plan on takin pictures at?
ideally, the best time to take photos is somwhere around sun up/ sun down.... but at the time youre talkin about we are gonna be working with the surrounding ambient light only. which may be tough.
let me know what you think.

I will see what I can do. All in all, it will be somewhat dark, but the streetlights provide some decent light. That parking structure probably has some lights as well.
