Just put a piece of black electrical tape over the light.

Does it come on every time? I get a code saying there is an issue with the air pump, but when I clear it, the code stays in que, but doesn't trip the CEL.

Also, I thought the air pump only came on during cold start? If that is the case have you tried clearing the code while the car is warm, and see if the code doesn't come on because the pump doesn't turn on until cold start?

I got one from the for sale forum and it was a dud.

So I am still looking for one.

I have this engine light on for the past year. It is due to the air pump not doing its job.

You can't pay registration if your due for a smog check. The smog dude sends the info electronically.

^ you can pay your registration before smog. I had to do that before with my gti when it had 13 check engine codes (long story) and that way you dont have to pay late fees. Just pay it now and request an extension
