Default Chula Vista Area

Anyone in the Chula Vista Area (Otay Ranch / Rolling Hills) East of the 125 and commute to Downtown? What's the drive time like and do you take the 125?

I'm looking at homes down there, and my girlfriend works downtown, so I am trying to see what type of commute she will have.

I live down there and work in Clairemont. I don't take the 125 and I start at 10am. I leave my house around 9am and I usually get in anywhere from 9:30-9:45. If I were to take the 125 during rush hour, it knocks off 10-15 minutes easy.

Have you considered any areas of chula vista outside of eastlake? My wife and I live in bonita which is REALLy convenient cuz we're literally 30 seconds away from the freeway. The wife works near downtown @ the MCRD and takes her like 10-15 minutes to get there.

At this point in time I'm only considering east of the 125 because it's the best bang for your buck right now. I'm looking in the Del Cerro, San Carlos, Allied Gardens, Mission / Fashion Valley areas too, but it seems that these areas haven't realized their homes are worth about 100k less then what the owners want.

The Eastlake, Rolling Hillings, Otay Mesa areas you can get a new 3,500 sqft home for low to mid 4's..
