Any autox or track events May 19th?
Just moved here a few months ago from Chicago, looking forward to getting to know the SoCal s2k folk
A friend of mine is visiting this weekend and I was wondering if there are any good autox or track events happening this Saturday? I found an SCCA practice event at Qualcomm but standing around working cones for 7 hours just isn't worth it.

Hey myself and another s2k owner road tripped to Detroit and stopped in chicago for a meet one night on the way about a year ago. Were you there?
Practice events are nice because you run for 90 minuets ( I think) and then work for 90 minuets so it only takes Up half your day

Nope never got a chance to go to any Chicago meets unfortunately.
Only issue I have with this event is it's a 90 min run time per group, but 25 cars/group = 3-4 minutes of actual run time = 3-4 runs total? For $70? Not sure if it's worth it. I tried calling them but no one picked up, I'll try again later on.
Anyone else going to this?

Sounds good then. Buddy of mine will be driving my car too so hopefully we'll both get in 5 runs. Know if any other S's will be joining?
Also I'm assuming I can just register/pay if we show up before 8:30 since it's too late to mail in the registration form...

As long as the event isn't full, you can register at the gate. Check the registration form for a URL to a forum where they post signup lists and/or if the event is full. (I don't have the link handy, sorry.) Or call tomorrow... It's good to know ahead, in case maybe morning is full and only afternoon groups are available. Also, I think you and your buddy can split the registration and each get ~5 runs, or you can both register and run separate groups. Best to show up well before 8:30, as the registration process can be a bit slow, then you need to get through tech, etc. Have fun!
