As title states...does anyone currently play this?

For those of you that haven't heard of it, it's an augmented reality game that uses an overlaid google map as your playing field. The "objective" of the game is to control and link portals for your faction. These portals are located in real places around the world and are viewed on the game map.

Not too many people care about the story much, but if you're a hard core role-player, it's worth checking that part out.

I was just curious if anyone has heard of it and/or is interested in something like this. I figured with a group whose interest revolves around a piece of transportation, it's probably a game that could fit right into the active community. The game requires alot of driving and/or walking to play, so it could make for some fun and interesting get togethers

The game is currently in CLOSED BETA. This means you need an invite to play. Typical google leaving their product beta for years...but it's easy enough to get an invite. I personally don't have any invites, but if you're interested in playing, let me know and I'll have some friends shoot out invites.

This is only for Android? No iPhone compatibility?

 

There is an iPhone port over by a third-party company, but it's horrible. I have a friend that has it, and it's a pain playing with him because it updates the servers too slowly and has a ton of glitches.

 

I have never played or heard of this game until yesterday when i got a text from a friend saying my s2k was in it. Dont know how thats possible but i guess someone used it as a point in the game while i was at a car meet hahaha
