Zymol anyone?
today i looked at the label for the first time and i got totally confused. it is said cleaner wax. and also "#1 rated car polish". so is it used for waxing or polishing? i have applied twice on MY04 so far. if it is indeed polish, have i messed up my paint/clear coat?

have not used it, but do know that it is not a true polish-
i would not be worried about damaging your clear coat, but also would not use this as an every time wax...
i would use this every year or two (or when you would normally use a paint cleaner).
i have used other zymol products and have found them to be excellent for the intended purposes. one of my fav car shampoos is made by them (they call it auto bathe or something like that).

I'm with wanabe... I wouldn't use this wax all the time.
The only way to mechanically remove light scratches and swirls is with light abrasives. Cleaner type waxes usually contain only chemical (petroleum) cleaners in them like Meg's Cleaner Wax or Clearkote's Moose Wax. For a good carnuba without any abrasives or cleaners try S100, P21S, Meg's #26 or Meg's #16, Clearkote's Carnuba Moose or Pinnacle Souveran.

zymol is good, but TX gets pretty hot, so I'd stick with a polymer polish as it has a much higher melting point than carnuba's. As well, long term use has carnuba's tending to fade paint instead of enhancing shine

it is a polymer- perfect for where you live!
and i would still top it with p21s as ubetit suggested above-
(btw, you would have to first remove the zymol before zainoing- dawn will do that)

Only thing I don't like about Zymol is that it's not very user friendly. It doesn't spread far, it's not the easiest to remove and it powders up all over the place, but I guess that's typical of a carnuba cleaner wax.

I use Zymol Japon, not the smurf blue stuff you can get at the auto parts store. I first use HD Clear to wash, then HD Cleanse as a cleaner wax, and finally the Zymol Japon for the carnuba. I love it, and the shine is outstanding. I've used Meguiar's Gold class, mothers california wax, and turtule wax, and Zymol outshines and outlasts. Plus, you only use a tiny bit each time you wax.
