I am a very happy user of Zaino, however, I am not sure how often to re apply Z1 to the car. The web site says twice a year, I have read a posting that says after every 10 coats of Z2. Presumably you just apply over the existing coats of Zaino and dont strip everything off again?

Well, it says twice a year for every day cars. It doesn't mention anything about stipping everything off before another coat of Z1. I'd say contact Zaino for the details.

I sent them an e-mail but got no reply.

I got a reply from Sal and he states "Z-1 is to be applied twice a year on an everyday car and once a year on a show car. Also, please reapply Z-1 after every ten coats of Zaino polish(Z-2 Or Z-5 or both). Z-1 will never remove Zaino. It will tighten up and strengthen the polish system and increase the gloss." He also said "You never have to strip Zaino and start over again... In fact Dawn does not remove Zaino... :-)" Hope that answers your question.

Ok about Z1...

It's kind of like a warranty. 10 coats or 6 months, whichever comes first. I like to do mine every 7 coats, but whatever you decide. And you put it on directly over what is already done. Z2 or Z5 count as a coat.

Z1 is a cleaner where the others are not. I have to use it after every track outing to remove rubber and tar. So I use it five or more times a year and the car still looks great.
