i'd suggest getting the kit. here's what i use, and i drive a black S.
ZFX for the initial
Z2 for routine waxing
Z5 for removing swirls when necessary
Z7 for after every wash to remove water spots and in between coats
Zaino car wash soap (not sure on the number) for washing
and i also use the leather conditioner, but i think i'll be switching over to lexol when my new interior is done.
i wasn't partial to the tire stuff that i once used nor the window stuff either.

I wouldnt buy the kit... they have stuff that you won't be needing.
Here's what I have from them -
ZFX (can get Z1 instead if you want, I prefer Zfx)
Z2 - protectant
Z5 - Swirl removal (do this first)
Z8 (i think thats the code... basically the detailing spray)
And thats it. Car wash you can get from any store and it works fine. Claybar I also use Mothers (store bought) over Zaino's. Buying another brand's claybar (especially mothers) saves you cash because you dont spend your Z8, but instead you use the fluid given with the mothers kit, allowing you to have more Z8 to use on what it's ment for... detailing.

Dont for get Z-6!! I go through loads of that stuff
Check out the $ savings if you get the kit. I'd say you need
ZFX
Z-2
Z-5 only if you think the swirl HIDING properies will be worth it
Z-6
I also like the applicators they have, the leather conditioner, and the carwash. You can decide if you want to try these but aren't required for the Zaino experience
I'd also make sure to have good MF towels on hand for removal

Z6 is the detailing spray - got the bottle right here.
I wrote a little article about my zaino experience.
I didn't get the kit. I got:
ZFX
z5 (i got swirl marks)
z2
z6
z7 (wash)
was about $70. they threw in a free applicator, which was handy.
the z5 made the swirl marks lighter, but they are still there.
I did:
wash with dawn
z5 w/ ZFX
z6
next day
z6
z5 w/ZFX
z6
next weekend
wash w/ z7
z6
z2 w/ZFX
z6
obviously, you don't have to z6 twice in a row if you are doing it on the same day.
good luck!

I am 34(ish), and have a wife and a house and a career, and nothing to do on the weekends except wax my car and watch TV, and keep my job so I can pay my morgage.
Have fun! I did at your age (at the expense of my career), and I do not regret it at all.
