Default Zaino brand new '04? Which one to get?

Should I Zaino my incoming 04 s2k? If so which one should I use and what's the best site to order it? I'm in Hawaii.

www.zainostore.com and you will need Z1 or ZFX, Z2, and Z6 for starters. Since the car is new you won't need Z5 (I didn't need it as recommended from the local Zaino dealer). You should also get the Z7 (car wash) and some clay magic clay or other good clay (like Mother's). I wouldn't use the Zaino clay and have heard that is falls apart and is not that good. You will also need some Dawn (or other) dishwashing liquid to strip any of the waxes or residue from the paint before starting the process.

my suggestion to a newbee-
use only z1 and z2 to start with... maybe z6, but i actually prefer p21s.
keep it simple-
you do need a good car shampoo, but any high quality shampoo will do (you need good sheeting action and slow drying qualities). zaino's shampoo is o.k., but not a requirement (and not my fav).
i also suggest that you begin work on the car at first light of day to keep the car shaded as long as possible.

wanabe: you mention that you prefer several alternatives to zaino products. can you list your prefs for us?

I think I already know the answer to this question but I thought I'd ask anyway. I'm picking up my new '04 Silverstone on Monday or Tuesday. I finally decided to go with Zaino products and I plan to Zaino the car next weekend (if the Zaino arrives in time). I also ordered a bunch of other car care products including a Blackfire claybar kit. I'm just wondering if anyone has found it necessary to use a claybar on a brand new car. My guess is no but I'll evaluate the paint once I get it.

Why do folks still recommend Z-1 since the introduction of ZFX? Is there an advantage to waiting for it to cure the old-fashion way?

I highly recommend a claybar, especially the farther east you live. Rail dust from the train transport is not good for the paint, and the claybar will get rid of that.

Other sites sell Zaino besides the Zaino store, that way you can get all your stuff (wash mitt, P21s, microfibers) all in one place with only one shipping charge. Look around and you'll find a few.
