general comment:
very interesting to see all the product combos being used- and i love to see all the "sandwiching" (what we called it in the early years) of wax over synthetics!

08yellowcr- yes the most common way to apply is by hand (note that you might need to polish with a machine before protecting the paint first). however, i am one of a small group that likes to use the machine (low speed will do) to apply cause i like to apply so evenly and so thin that you barely see the product. harder to do that by hand.
apply with a no cut pad. to remove, i use a mf bonnet over a lambswool pad (for some cushinoning).

So far, I am in love with Blackfire Wet Diamond Paint Sealant.
For Carnuaba, I dont get into waxes too much but p21s 100% has always been good to work with. I am trying out Blackfire Midnight Sun next week

I'll be using the Griot's Garage one step sealant today on a black Prius. I'll be sure to post pics of the process.

i like to polish out the car completely than i use about 2 coats of collinite 845. the 2 coats could honestly last about 6 months but i usually re apply every 3 months give or take. i usually wash my car once a week with meguiar's gold class shampoo.

I like using FMJ as my sealant. 2x FMJ 2x lusso oro and looks great on my silverstone. 2-3months and I still have a great shine but not as much beading but I cant complain after couple months of no waxing.

Biggest factor in durability is not just the product but how well you take kare of your car imho. I dont drive the s2k everyday probably 3 times a week. I always park it in the garage and in a parking structure school/work. I live in Cali with pretty nice weather but if you live somewhere hot like Texas or Hawaii it wont last as long in cooler weather. I only wash my car once a month since I keep it pretty clean and its garage. More washes will wear away some of the wax.

Once you guys find me a sealant that lasts longer than 1.5 years garaged, I will stick with my zaino z2.
