yellow coloring on GPW Sideskirt?
hey guys,
i just bought a used 04 GPW s2k but notice a yellowish coloring under my driver's sideskirt. it seems like it's a yellow stain or fading of some sort.
is anyone else having this problem?
thanks.

its a polish solution... and your problem is more common at the rear near the exhausts.
after washing and drying, i would probably clay it first (i would first inspect, but would expect it to need clay).
the clay will have some chance of helping a bit, and in any case will expose the clear coat. next i would use a paint cleaner (very similar to a swirl remover) with a pc.
that should get it- could take several attempts, and might have to go more aggressive with the polish, but paint cleaners will usually get it.

good suggestion from a member that i post up an example of a paint cleaner-
i just used 1z (i used green- and yellow is a more aggressive cleaner) recently, but here is the sonus (lower part of the article):

Be careful not to rub out too hard on the gravel guard. The paint is very cheap for some reason on that section.
About six months ago I had a rock hit that area and the paint came off. When I tried to touch it up and buff it in to blend the finish it made it worse and rubbed off some more of the paint so I had to pay a mobile detailer to do it right.
I dont like it either but its normal. Just be careful not to get too aggressive with that area.

I have that too on my 05. Its on the gravel guard section as well towards the front of the car. Very yellow. I'm going to try the clay and paint cleaner method that Wanabe suggested.

i'd like to see how the section looks after it's been cleaned and polished.
