I 2nd the wearing of rubbermaid gloves. I fill my soap bucket up w/ hot water from the tap so my scrubbing is nice and toasty.
I used to use the absorber and would fill a bucket up w/ clean hot water, and would keep dunking it in there to warm it back up. I've since gotten a garage and between that and the california blade/big blue towel I don't have drying remorse anymore.

Bundle up. For your hands, heres what I do. Get a couple sizes to big dish washing gloves. The extra size allows for some cotton gloves underneath. The dish gloves keep your hands from getting wet and the cotton helps to insulate. Other than that, try to avoid getting water on you any more than necessary (duh). Works fine for me.

I personally would recommend for you use to Mr. Clean's Auto wash, but the results were not as impressive as I thought it would be. The water takes longer to dry than anticipated.
QEW looks promising, I would have to try that myself. Is there a site where I can order this from?
