And after 2 years of having it off, I added it back, thought it flowed better with the hardtop that is on the car way too often

I Agree, definitely flows better with the black top.

I Agree, definitely flows better with the black top.
+1 Definitely works better with black tape and black HT.

Any tips on how to put the vinly back on and where to get the vinyl? Im looking to put mine back to black also but have no idea where to start.

idk if anyone is still reading this, i know the thread is super old. im debating going outside and doing this right now to my GPW. but im kinda scared lol seems like its a toss up on wether your paint will be okay in the end.

Dang, this thread *is* old. I remember showing up here 10 years ago and wondering what the heck windshield tape was... I'm glad I've been able to share my experience with so many of you on the subject.

Did Honda continue doing this right through the final years of the car?

lol I was in hs while you were here back in 02.thanks for your help I plan on removing my tape after my top gets painted

yup I have the tape on my 07. they did it for all years.

did this last week to blend with my replica mugen hardtop
a little cold to take the tape off now, had to use a hairdryer to peel off every inch or 2 lol it cooled off really fast and still ended leaving some tape in the molding, but you can't see it anyways
paint was perfect underneath
