Default windshield shadows

Bought my 2000 s2k used from a dealer. They used markers that car dealers use to write on windshields. Even after washing and using windshield cleaners there is always a shadowy image of the words and stars that were written on the glass. Any idea how to remove these shadows? Thank's, Jack.

Try a claybar you can pick up at your local auto store for about 12 bucks. My Kragen had Mother's claybar which came with detailer's spray.

clay might work...

and i would try a glass polish-

test it on a small area first, then go for the entire glass- should also help remove other junk that is on the glass

I had purchased a ppg replacement windshield that had some bad water marks on it...like dripping water having run down the glass and staining the clearness...could only be seen at night or in the rain...

in any event... what worked for me ...

a thorough cleaning of the windshield with a white vinegar & water solution...then a good cleaning with my usal glass cleaner...water marks/stains all gone never to be 'seen' again.

nate03- good suggestion-
vinegar is great for getting calcium and other water deposits off of paint or glass...

polish would go a step beyond, in case vinegar doesnt get it -

White vinegar + water should do. Clean the glass thoroughly with the solution and the mark should disappear.
