Why does my S2000 attract so much dust?
A couple of months after I bought my Silverstone S2000 (Dec. 6, 2002) I did the Z1 and Z2 application. I have since put on three more coats of Z2. I just hit 3k miles and my car has only been rained on once. It sleeps in the garage at night. The funny thing is that it seems like my car is attracting dust. A few days after I wash it I can see a film of dust on it. The longer I wait to wash it the more dust accumulates. It doesn't seem to matter whether I drive it or just leave it in the garage. I would think that driving it would cause the dust to fly away, but it doesn't seem to. Is it possible that my car is actually attracting dust? Is there anything I can do about it?

Get a "California Duster" from Walmart (best price) and dust it every day (I actually do mine twice a day but I am real nut about such things)........It takes only 60 seconds (or less) and will keep your baby looking good...........This is not to say you still don't have to wash it (at least once a week) but it will keep that just washed look...........

My 02 seemed to attract more dust in 02 than it has in 03. I was thinking maybe there was some static attracting the dust when it was newer and as it ages it is going away. Then again maybe it has to do with the weather! Anyway, I have to agree with Spryguy...get a duster.

search around there is a dust comparison thing... Zaino does attract dust thats why some folks suggest P21s as the last layer.
I just use light soap and water to get the dust out every two weeks - month or so.

yes I concur with petraidm on this one. Zaino does attract dust. I found z6 does nothing to repel it. I found using a carnuba on top does a better job.

agree with the above posts... i always top off the zaino with p21s.
then after a week or so, dust the car and if it needs it- use a detailers spray (which contains carnuba too).

i use megauirs #26 hightech yellow wax and it also attracts dust. you can't see it, but if you run your finger across the hood you can see it (especially in sunlight at an angle). but since my car is white, you can't really see it at all.
