I just use zaino car wash concentrate mixed with water...and everytime I claybar my car I always claybar my wheels (it's amazing what the claybar can do to your wheels but only do it once you've claybared the entire car; save the wheels for last).

I was talking to a car care technician about my volk rims. Also verified that the bronze volks are anodized. The technical assistant person told me that there is no clear coat on anodized rims,as you can't for some reason. He said anodized rims are extremely sensitive and he doesn't know why any wheel manufactuers use anodization. He's guessing that i may have taken off some of the anodization from the wheels which caused an oxidation.

Good news is that after some Zaino the rims look a lot better, there are only small areas on the rear rims. I was told to try p21s multi-surface finish restorer polish and then coat it with carnauba wax. So i think i will be ordering that P21S polish and try to buff my wheels back to normal.

Ok, well i didn't get a chance to order the p21s restorer polish but i spent the weekend putting one coat of zaino followed by mothers carnauba wax and i must say the wheels look good again.

Two members have looked at the rims and can't notice anything until i point to the specific spots where it was [before the carnauba wax] so i guess i am just too picky about my wheels

kln- no way are you too picky...
you can still try the p21s when you get it.
it will remove the zaino and mothers so you will need to reapply them, but i would give it a try.
and of course, from now on non-acidic cleaners only!!

I would think the carnauba would come off pretty quickly considering the heat of the wheels after a drive. The Zaino should last though.

boughtans2k-
you are prob right about most carnubas...
but some are blended with synthetics so that they can resist heat better.
wheel wax is a product that is carnuba based but also includes synthetics.
i have used it on my exhaust and it seems to work pretty well even under that heat...
