anyway, do not use a powerful wheel cleaner, cause it will have acid in it-
you need a non-acid cleaner or you will etch or ruin the clear coat on the wheels.
just get a high quality non-acid based wheel cleaner (p21s is an example) and clean each wheel several times with a good wheel brush and the cleaner. that should work- just in case, you might need some clay. be sure to throw the clay away after you use it on wheels though.

No need for clay on tires. Use a "scrunge" - a sponge with a scrubber side. It is by far the best scrubber for tires that I have used. Plain dish soap works excellent. Afterwards, a light coat of protectant on the tires. Don't use Armor All, as I have seen where it tends to turn exposed rubber and plastic cloudy over time. A product that used to work real well is "Clear Guard", but I don't see it any more. Black Magic Pro Shine Protectant may be a good product to use on exposed rubber and plastics. I am currently using it. It looks the same, and smells the same as the old "Clear Guard".
I detailed a 1886 Honda V-65 Magna for over ten years using clear guard on all the exposed plastics and even the engine paint. While my bud's rides engine painit and plastic turned grey, mine stayed black and healty looking.
Caveat... before grabbing the scrunge from the kitchen, clear it with the wife. My wife tends to get a little upset when I grab a scrunge that hasn't reached its full potential in the kitchen first.
Happy Detailing.

All,
Earlier I reported that Maguire's SUCKED. I was mistaken. The product I was using - that I didn't like - is "Eagle One "A2Z". The cleaner leaves a cloudy film on the wheels and it appears to dissolve rubber.

Simple:
1) Spray it on Tire and Wheel
2) Wait 30 sec
3) Agitate Tires with a Tire Brush and Wheels with a wheel brush
4) Rinse off
Do One wheel at a time and the wheels will be very clean front to back Do Only one wheel at a time.
I have never tried a more affective cleaner in my life. Wheels used to be the reason I hated detialing my cars. AtoZ took away those reasons for me

I've had great success with Honda Pro Cleaner. I tried it after my bi-annual bike cleaning. It works great with Costco Microfibre towels. No water needed!
Any Honda Motorcyle dealer should have it. Or try www.compacc.com. Top mail order firm [and I have no affiliation, I'm just a customer.]
