I would say Lexol, but thats more because I use it regularly. Both did a great job but I'd recommend Lexol. As I said (and it's somewhat hard to explain without seeing firsthand), but the Lexol seems to bring the leather back to factory shipped look - and keep it there. While the Zaino restores the leather with a shine. I know that sounds pretty much the same, but if you have the availability to try both, do so, and you'll see what I mean. I guess Zaino has more of a "show car" look to the leather, while Lexol restores to OEM look. But don't get me wrong, both are EXCELLENT products, and if you are partial to one then definitely go with that. Also, for me, Lexol is much easier to purchase.

Thanks for the detailed replies on this, very helpful

Purchasing for me is the same either way, a bit of work to get it ordered and shipped to me, no place to really pick it up over the counter, so I will order the product the same either way. I think I'm going to take the plunge and get Lexol, everything I've seen of it sounds great from people who have used it, your recommendation is reassuring. The only thing that held me back from buying Lexol was that it never mentioned having any UV blocking protection, I think that it might have some though because a few people who do a lot of top down driving report zero fading on their seats using Lexol. I gotta believe that it has some UV protection. I just installed some brand new ap1 seats and I want to keep them looking that way as long as possible.

I just gave the seats a good coating with Meguiars leather conditioner as it was recommended to me by JPMCoachworks, it has UV protection in it, is solvent free, and is readily available to me over the counter so I could use something right away. I will be placing an order for Lexol though. I picked up some autoglym cleaner to use with the Meguiars, it seems to work decently thus far, but I look forward to getting the Lexol. Thanks again.

Well the base idea is that the McGuire's is more of sealant - seals the UV protection into the seat. Whereas the Lexol conditioner replenishes the lost moisture from evaporation. Either way, our sets are so coated with fire-retardant materials and other additives, that a lot of the "cowhide" is already UV ready. Now as your seats get older, I would suggest the best of both worlds. Lexol cleaner -> Lexol Conditioner -> Maguires Sealant. But do keep in mind, that sealant is what give the "shiny" look that ArmourAll and others are noticeably infamous for.

Pretty much, if you're a wash and wax wacko like the rest of us here, you'll be ok with Lexol. If doing your wife/husband/bf/gf's cars that you don't care AS much about, take the shorter route and just use a good sealant.

As the detailing handbook says: "these products lack the essential conditioning oils which keep your leather supple." So, it's really up to you.

Sorry probably didn't help much, and thats what I get for sleepchecking S2KI, haha.

No , you've been very helpful, and based on your experience I'm going with Lexol. I just needed some short term protection until I can get some Lexol purchased and delivered. I had a couple areas on the passenger seat that seemed to be hardening up, thus far the Meguiars has softened it up which has helped. Looking forward to see how the Lexol improves upon that, should be nice.

I see Lexol also has a Neatsfoot dressing, I'll probably not get that but it sounds interesting. I'll stick with the cleaner and conditioner for now.

Thanks for the great advice and support on this

I ordered some Lexol cleaner and conditioner today, along with a bottle of Leatherique Rejuvenator. I think I'm going to still use some Meguiars or 303 as a top coat for UV protection once and a while.

As I've been waiting for the new products to arrive I've been putting on layers of Meguiars along with some cleaning with Autoglym cleaner. I had a couple sections of my paasenger seat that were harder and rougher than the other panels of the two seats. I have to say they have softened up quite a bit and feel smoother , almost like the other sections of the seats. I think this stuff is working decently, look forward to getting the other products on them soon though. Not bad for over-the-counter products.

I picked up some Leatherique rejuvenator and let my seats soak in it for a while, I then gave them a cleaning with Lexol cleaner and final protection with Lexol condiitioner. I think they are as good as they can get. I love the final look of the seats after the Lexol treatment, I'm definitely sold on those products for future protection of the seats. I might use the Leatherique once a year as an intensive conditioner. Nice products.

everything I've seen and read seems to indicate that keeping the seats clean and conditioned on a regular basis is the key. I like the Lexol cleaner and conditioner system, they work well together.

A lot of the specialty top end leather products that claim to "feed" the leather just don't seem to be made for our types of seats. The Lexol system seems to be pretty much all we need.

I have and use several different brands and have to admit they all seem to work. I generally just grab a bottle without any strong prefference as to witch brand I'm going to use today. When I saw this thread it reminded of the Four Star product I used this afternoon. If you enjoy the smell of leather this may be the conditioner your looking for. Recomennded
