Just curious what everyone is using to spot clean things like this. I have been using detailer spray and a microfiber cloth. Any better ideas?

I use Meguiar's No. 34 Final Inspection detailing spray and Pakshak Microfiber towels.
Final Inspection does not contain wax and I've even used on the vinyl top and have been very pleased with the results.

the above is all fine as long as you get it quickly... if not, or if you end up with "etching" (the spot wont come all the way out), you will be forced to some type of polish. i always go with the least aggressive first- and my preference is usually to try a paint cleaner, and if that doesnt get it, then a swirl remover. if you get this far, you have also removed all protection on your paint so you need to rewax or resynthetic the area (or the whole car, depending on whether you need an excuse to do this or not!!)

A couple of us around here have had good luck with Windex when the poop is relatively fresh. When it's old and hardened, I go with repeated soaking with hot water. Luckily, so far, no etching.
