What do I wax?
Just curious, I know to wax the hood and the sides, etc, but what about the "plastic" bumpers, side mirrors, etc? Any reason NOT to wax those?
The reason I ask is that I once bought a used '84 300ZX where the "nose" was obviously plastic and was discolored, and I just want to ensure that doesn't happen w/ the S2K.
Thanks!

i cant imagine there is anything you shouldnt wax.
although, being a Zaino user - I can do it on anything.
Maybe it was the brand of wax you used back then - technology has come a long way on both paint and paint protection. Just be sure to get the right material, e.g. Royal Velvet Towels for drying, wax removal etc. 100% cotton is the secret - and it should be American Made.

Yeah, it came to me already faded, so I wasn't sure. I'm gonna try the Zaino, everyone else around here seems to love it.
And cotton is ABSOLUTELY the only thing I'll use. I have a BUCKET full of towels, and use one per panel to be as certain as I can be to minimize scratches.
Thanks!

That's great. I'd be very interested. Is it on the web? If not, I'm happy to help you put it up there. I'll eMail you later if you don't have a link.

I use Zymol's Concours wax on all the painted panels, their Detail wax on the mirrors (its supposed to keep plastics supple but I prefer the look of Concours on the bumpers), their Creme wax on the alloys (really stops dust/dirt adhereing) and lastly liquid polish on the exhaust tips. Lots of Auto-Fanatics 100% cotton polishing cloths and Zymol microfibre towels of course (exclusively dedicated to each type of wax - far too anal I know )

I'm in the "wax pretty much everything" bunch, certainly the bumpers, and side mirrors and anything with paint on it. If the S2000 is like other cars with plastic bumpers, especially Miata, over time the bumpers seem to fade before paint on steel (or aluminum) panels. So definitely wax the exterior of the bumpers.

Another advantaget to Zaino is that it works well on wheels-- prevents the break dust from sticking to it... use Z2 or Z5 followed by Z6.
I would NOT recommend this for waxes as wheel temps go beyond 200f which melts wax... not to mention break dust would stick to it.
