i wouldnt say it is eroding...
it is clear coated, but suvh8r is right on that you need to protect the clear coat asap....
in fact, we recommend that you not let the dealer do the prep, but that you do it yourself.
one of the dealer options that they all give is swirls!!

FYI: I was being intentionally a little irrational. But I did wax my car the first weekend and just about every month after. It only takes ~30 min to wax the car.

if you are using carnuba, once a month is about right...
your car should be in pretty good shape. you will only have to do periodic inspections to determine whether you need to clay or swirl remove-
