Unhappy Wax stains on Convertible Top

I detailed my car the other day, including claybar, a little light scratch remover on the windshield bar, and wax.
During the process I forgot to tape-off the convertible top around the windshield, and got some scratch remover (compound really) on the edge of the top along the windshield.
Also, I placed my wax/clay fillde hand on the top near the passenger door, to support myself while I waxed the lower-half of the passenger door. Now, there's a white handprint left on the top.

I've tried washing and re-washing. I've also tried convertible top cleaner spray.
Nothing works so far.

Can I fix this huge mess-up? Up close, the wax and compound look like they're caked into the weave of the canvas top.

Thanks!

No offense, but thanks for nothing.
That entire thread is inconclusive... did CANEINTN ever report back the results from using Meguirs Heavy Duty Vinyl Cleaner 39 ?? No.

Did he ever report back the results from trying a 70/30 combination of Simple Green and Dawn? No.

Let's revive this question, and post some actual suggestions on this thread, instead of links to nowhere.

Besides, my top is much worse. There are large blotches of wax on my top, not tiny specks.

Thanks.

You may want to give this a try from Griots.

It'd help if you provided a few good pics, otherwise all of the suggestions are merely a shot in the dark. Other useful information would help like...

- What exact products was used? Everyone says wax but sometimes it turns out it's something else.

- That Griotsgarage stuff is garbage based on my own experiences, it works well on trims but good luck getting it to work on a soft top.

Thanks.
Take it easy! Mike is just trying to help you and there are 100 great suggestions in that thread to solve your problem. Just because one of them may or may not have not worked for CANEINTN doesn't mean that they won't work for you.

Just remember when removing any stains from your convertible top a soft brush is your best friend. Whatever you apply to the top make sure you scrub it in using a brush. BTW, this was also my suggestion to CANEINTN in the other thread.
