wax residue on the splash guard
#2
dumb question- what is the splash guard?
and assume its is plastic or vinyl?
guessing that it is vinyl, you have several choices-
i think that i would start with megs heavy duty vinyl cleaner:
and info from their site:
<<"The best way to remove wax from vinyl or rubber is to use Meguiar's #39 Heavy Duty Vinyl Cleaner. #39 will emulsify and breakdown the dry wax residue. If you have a tough time locating #39, any all-purpose cleaner should also do the job. Agitating the cleaner by gently scrubbing the surface with a soft bristle brush, like a toothbrush, can help break up the wax">>

yup- vinyl... i call those "wheel strakes"-
anyway, now i know what you mean, and the megs product above is a good first step
let us know how it works!
-----
wait, now that i look at it again it looks like a mud flap!!
strakes are under the car in front of the wheel- purpose is to break up the air flow to the wheel for better handling. the one you posted looks like it is to keep debris off of the car.
is this a stock item on newer cars? (he asked a bit embarrased !)
in any case the product advice doesnt change !

What about if I want to remove dried wax from the paint?
The car I just bought, the guy must have been in a hurry when he was waxing it to make it look good for the dealer....
