I've seen a particular brand of wax or polish mentioned here several times, but didn't take much notice, as I'm in Europe & it was the U.S. guys talking.

However, I have a chance for someone to bring me something from the States now, so am asking if anyone can suggest the best product for making a red S2000 shine to its best!

I'm using Meguiar's Wax/Cleaner, but don't think I'm getting that deep shine I should be getting.

Thanks,

Which Meguiar's product(s) are you using? I've used their 3-step Deep Crystal stuff on my Civic and Prelude with very good success. So far I've only applied the third step (wax) to my S2000 since the car's paint is still in fairly new condition. If you are only using Meg's one-step wax&cleaner then your results won't be near as good (and yes I've tried it on my wife's Lude). I'm thinking of trying Zaino, but I'm a little weary...

You can find lots of info in the Wash and Wax forum. BTW, I will shoot this thread overthere.

When I took delivery of my S2K it had just arrived and had been sitting in the dealer's carpeted, airconditioned storage area in the back of the business office so the car was not exposed to the elements at all. The finish is smooth as glass and all I've used is Mothers liquid carnuba wax, a couple of times over the past several weeks. The shine is very deep and the finish has the wet look. I also use it every couple of months on my Prelude in conjunction with a clay bar. I hear that the Zaino products are great but I honestly can't conceive the finish as being any better than it is now on either car. BTW, the Mothers product is very easy to use and it does seem to last; even after several months in the brutal Florida sun, the Prelude's finish beeds water in small droplets. Just the same, I reapply it for the enjoyment of doing it.

I used to use 3M wax. But now that I tried Zaino Bros. I just can't use anything else. Deep deep shine and with a black car, you just can't use second best. The clay bar is must.y

I'll second that. I was using Meguiar's Gold Class, which I still think is good stuff, but Zaino is clearly superior as far as I am concerned. I have 1 coat of Z5 and 2 coats of Z2 on my red, and I think that it looks just great. I also used Z6 between coats and after the last coat, and I wipe it down periodically with Z6.
