Default Washing your Windshield

How do you get your windshield perfectly clean?

For some reason I cannot get mine all the way clean. I use windex and paper towels and always get swirl marks and the like. It looks clean enough but sooner or later during a drive I see the frustrating marks.

Is there some type of cleaner that would do a better job? Or, is the towels?

I use a surgical gauze type cloth to wipe the windows clean. Dosen't leave any lint or residue. Purchased at a place called the Wax Depot, they have a web site by that name. If I rember a packet of three was pretty cheap (couple of bucks). For the inside of the windshield the best stuff is: "Porsche inside glass cleaner" a small spray bottel is about $7.00 but it goes a long way.
Good luck,
Ken

Well....the windshield will always look clean at first, until the sun shines on it, and the dust starts to settle. Thats when the swirls start to show. As for me, I use plain ol Bounty paper towel.
1) Wash with plain warm water to rid of any larger dust particles and/or bugs. Dry with clean paper towel
2) Use Eagle One Glass cleaner (the best IMO) with a clean paper towel. Spray on the glass and wipe off, wiping until all streaks have vanished, and you hear that "squeaky" clean sound.
3) Use the California Duster or other woollen mit to rid the glass of any paper towel residue or other loose dust.

That should eliminate the streaks you see after cleaning your windshield! Works for me.

Easiest, cheapest, and best way is to use Windex and newspapers.

This stuff is $8usd... and goes on like wax does... but when you wipe it clean... ohh my gawd. Freaking amazing. I was using several other glass cleaners, and this is by-far-and-away the best stuff I've used.

(Yes, windex with newspapers works well also)-- but for those of you who like the neato car products, I give this 5 outta 5 stars.

if you're using a cleanser its better to stay on the less dilute side in order to avoid residue swirls.

Just used windex and newspaper.... Flawless! No streaks.
