I think I have to go to a Laundromat to do it, but not sure what kind of detergent to use..... Is it safe to take it to a Laundromat??

Any help will be greatly appreciated..

oversized machine at the laudromat is the best way to go... and dry on low heat.
use fantasik for detergent...
this is the only place that i know to get this type of fantastik (its not the same as the one you get at the store):
