Washing inside of convertible top
Hi, recently while I was driving with the top down, and a bird thought it would be funny to poop on the INSIDE of my convertible top, the part that is exposed if you dont put on the boot cover on. So at first I tried using soap and water and then some spray stuff but now it has left this white spot on my top, its kind of faint but noticeable. Does anyone know how to get this spot out? I tried rubbing hard with a wet towel but I only succeeded in messing up some of the material. Suggestions please? It really bugs me that I can see this big white spot when the top is up. Thanks.

I think they designed it that way to give the inside a bit more "warmth" to the touch. Although the Helm manual calls it convertible top "cloth", it is well known that it is plastic. Try the car wash soap first.

xviper,
Perhaps they do mean that it's a 'cloth', just one that happens to be woven from vinyl fibers. I guess its the same as usage as fiberglass or carbon fiber 'cloth'.

jeff, you are probably correct. It's just that using the term "cloth" on a part that is sometimes made of the "real thing" on other cars can be confusing, especially when it isn't real "cloth".
