pretty funny... everything that i read says they should be replaced after a year-
mine are like yours-
so old i dont even know how old they are!!
and just as good- when they start falling apart (again, seems like forever) they become "lower part" cleaners (wheels, etc.)
glad to find out that i am not the only one who keeps his mitts a very long time

Little tip on drying the sheep skin mits. Go to local salt water aquarium store and buy a small box of BIO balls(very cheap). These are used in wet/dry filters for aquariums. Just put 3 or 4 inside the mitt and it will allow the inside to stay open and help with drying.

You can also go to toy store and buy a wiffle ball.

I wouldn't see why you would need to replace them if they aren't falling apart or moldy. I dry mine on a ventilated shelf in the garage.

Sheep-Skin Mitt
Pros: non-abrasive, holds dirt well, durable
Cons: LONG dry time, molds if not dried properly, difficult to wash, expensive
i've never had trouble drying a sheep-skin mitt... i just drape it on the edge of a bucket, come back the next day and it's dry. am i missing something?

i've been using the same sheepskin mitt for 2 years that cost me $8. not too expensive in my book.

gotta sell it.

Wanabe - I didn't buy them from Griot's, but they're just like

These mitts

They hold a very large amount of car wash shampoo. I've had no problems with them introducing swirls, but I'm pretty careful, and always use the two bucket system with my super-clever Griot's Garage car wash bucket.
