Default Wash Mitts - Guide to buying

Hello everyone, I wanted to start a topic revolving around wash mitts and what each type of wash mitt is good for (pros/cons)

Synthetic Mitt
Pros: durable, fast drying, cheap, holds dirt well, easy to wash
Cons: semi-abrasive

Sheep-Skin Mitt
Pros: non-abrasive, holds dirt well, durable
Cons: LONG dry time, molds if not dried properly, difficult to wash, expensive

Microfibre Mitt (never owned, i'll guess)
Pros: non-abrasive, durable
Cons: doesn't hold dirt well(short knap), expensive

I used the Synthetic mitts on the tires, rims, windows, Sheep-skin only touch the body

agree with you-
sheepskin on my paint- usually following a foaming of the car...

and actually i use old sheepskins on other parts

the problem with mfs was that the knap was too short and did not allow dirt particles to be released- they trapped dirt, making them into a sorta sandpaper!! (swirl magnets, in other words)-

sheepskins release dirt in the rinse nicely

Sheepskin for washing! And as far as drying time on a sheepskin, not really an issue here in Texas.
Durability wise a good sheepskin will outlast any competitor and actually gets better with age.

I have tried a few and can't seem to find one I am truely happy with. Might have to go to a sponge.
Ones I have tried:

All_White Schmitt
Microfiber/Chenelle Mitt (holds tons and tons of water, but not enough soap for me)
All_white terry/cotton type. (bad for paint?)

might try sheepskin next.

Years ago, the party line was to use a natural sea sponge as a wash mit. What do you guys think?

I'm pretty happy with my Microfiber mitts currently.

guessing that you have the recent version mitt- deep knap...
the ones that i tested have all been short knap and do not release dirt easily-

we have not had a product review on these since they first came out-
if you get a chance, how bout an updated review of the mf mitt??

My two sheepskins are 8 or 9 years old by now and they look new.
