vinyl top brush recommendations
What do people normally use as a brush to clean the rag top? I already bought the raggtop cleaner and protectant, but I don't know where to locally buy the boars hair brush I see recommended. I only have with me what seems like a stiffer, synthetic upholstery cleaner. I am hoping someone can tell me where to go besides online for a brush if this one I have is not good for our tops

ok cool. I'll use the one I have gently for now. If I am not happy with the result, I will order one of those for the next vinyl wash. I am really curious how the top will look after the raggtop treatment. It is an 8 year old top, never been replaced before, and looks like it has a little fading if you look at it carefully.

i would use the brush for washing, but would use mf rags for the protectant.
wash and dry it...
then
really load up the product- soak the rag (away from the car) then rub it in really well. let it sit (i do the rest of the car at this point)- then come back and buff it out well with a clean rag. i then repeat that.

I used a brush that I bought at this stupid little wheel/stereo shop in the next town over. The bristles are soft, but not too much so, and I got one with a long handle since I am Vertically Challenged. Sometimes I just wash the top with my wash mit though

actually any brush will work...
if its a stiff brush, dont push as hard- gentle does it
a good brush for the top would be something like this one:

or

this brush can also be used on other parts of the car...

I have a different OXO brush that seemed to work well cleaning the top. It's very similar to this one, probably the previous model (my handle looks different, it's a number of years old):

alternatively, this one could work well too:
