I did the Z1, Z2, and Z6 after I bought my MY2000, but I'm thinking I might want to start with the claybar on the new one?? I ordered it today along with the other products as I ran out of everything recently.
Sal Zaino writes about how 70% of all new cars come via the rail system and thus, they end with rail dust embedded in the paint.
What does everybody think about this??? Claybar necessary on a new car??????

Actually it is not a bad idea if you have the time. Between the final assembly process, packing, shipping, transport, and dealer prep. it picks up a lot of surface dirt. If I had mine to do over I would certainly clay bar it before using any polish/wax.

I claybarred when new. There was a little bit of stuff I picked up... but only about 1/100th the amount that was on my GF's '95 Civic. Mainly little black specs that you can't really see anyway (rail dust?). Don't remember the specs being concentrated in any particular area.
I do recommend it. It's very easy to claybar when there isn't too junk to remove.

well two bars come in the bottle so why dont you guys just split the bottle? i believe its like 16 dollars so just ask him 10 dollars shipped. oh and one bar is more then enough for one car and i barred my car about 5 or 6 months ago and its still smoother then silk, baby's butt, etc.....
a very highly recommended thing to do. and definitely do this before zainoing the car because you will end up protecting all the crap thats on your car paint that way....
