Default Underbody OCD

Hi guys..my second post I think. I’m 65, have been a Honda motorcycle guy for 50 years….I am in love with my delayed mid-life crisis purchase. Just picked this up locally in Ohio.
One owner…currently 68 years old…Veterinarian by career…89,000 miles….Service Records from the same dealership for 18 years up on Carfax. Never crashed, Nose has been replaced…the car in and out is very close to perfect…including the drivers seat bolster…cause he knew how to enter and exit the car….I got it up on a Lift today and proceeded to zone in…or out depending on the spectrum of your OCD…I was into it…check it out….I first washed each component of the frame with Dawn and water with a micro fiber….followed up by a micro fiber sprayed with fluid film and some WD-40…The WD thins down the fluid film and avoids thick puddling of the Fluid Film….I have looked at a lot of undercarriage pictures…and even on cars with 20,000 miles and they don’t look this good…it’s spooky….even the aluminum of the diff and trans along with the fasteners are crazy corrosion and oxidation free…This was a good project with satisfying results…I could really see what I bought….and was damn happy !!

Holy moly! I'd love to do this one of these days. How many hours did you spend?

Honestly…I work quick and efficiently….3 hours…not bad for the beauty beneath…I knew it could look good…if your are starting with something less preserved, just take your time with each component…I don’t like painting anything…I like oem even if corroaion is present. Clean it up, coat it and most importantly…PRESERVE it !!
Thanks so much for acknowledging the end result…so many views and no comments !

I think we're just speechless from seeing an undercarriage clean enough to lick.

That is one clean underside! The car must have been kept in a dry environment by the previous owner.

Looks amazing. It really does. But any concern that this becomes a dust magnet?

Well…that is why I cut the fluid film with WD40 and only did a very light coat…it doesn’t appear too tacky…if it does attract dirt, it will be an easy cleanup I think…at least it is protected and I will watch it to see how it goes…worst case I’ll do it again next year. I don’t drive it in rain or generally dusty conditions…

It’s holding up great…I don’t have prior pix but it is a car tht was never in the rain or snow….even if your has been….just get it in amlift and take one component at a time…The WD is so light…remember, I sprayed it on and then wipe it off…never truly removing all of it….any dust that accumulates is very minor and you have slowed down / negated the corrosion process…..PB Blaster also has a new product out that I bought but have not used for underbody protection…thanks for asking. BTW….my car is for sale. One owner prior to me for 18 years…full service records…re-sprayed nose and 10 vins. It’s a truly one of a kind condition.
