paint measured at 85-95 all around and I went sip to get it corrected and perfect for the customer.

tried PO203 and I didn't get the cut I needed.

Wow. 85-95? That's pretty thin. Something must have changed in the paint process over the years - mine averages about 120 (it's a 2004 Tochigi car).

At 85-95 I sure as hell wouldn't have compounded it. And not sure what paint readings have to do with the cut of a polish .

Either way, as long as the customer was happy, and you were, that's all that counts

huh wow said I compounded it, I used Super Intensive Polish.

Anyway that's cool the car read 85 -95 microns that's what I see on all the imports and the s2000's that I have worked with, possible the dealer took it down if you guys are seeing 120 microns.

But I can tell you this 85rd and 106 would not have produced these results alone.

So did you use the yellow pad on just the hardtop or the whole car?

Lookin good. Sometimes I really like that color and sometimes I think it looks terrible. I think it's because the CR has dark wheels and it throws it off. With a nice bright silver wheel I think it'd look a lot better.

I was judging by the "compouding" pad.

Also, please Phil, understand I'm not bashing in any way. I know the work you do. I'm just saying it's an interesting combo historically (re-iterated again). I never said the work was shotty-- I know it's not.

In fact, today, I'm working on a Rio Yellow AP1 that required 3-4 hits of M105 on an Uber Orange pad with the flex 3401. Some panels have been repainted--some not. So I know not all Honda paint is the same .

Again, I was never saying you did bad work-just surprised by the aggressiveness you had to go to (much like I was today!!).

^I will say that I feel like the uber foam pads are a little softer compared to the ccs pads of the same color. Maybe I missed something and the colors don't roughly relate in the same way.
