Default Tough waterspots on windows

Hey guys lately I've been getting these waterspots on my windows that I usually don't see till the day after I wash. I find it hard to dry them since the waffle weave doesn't work too well on windows. I try adams glass cleaner and stoners IG with DD glass towels but that doesn't get them out. Last time I had to clay them off. Is there a reason these are so hard to get off or does anyone have a good way of removing/preventing these? Thanks!

and once you get them clean, try using a synthetic on them...
i have zaino on mine right now- dont even need wipers anymore so i took them off (rain just rolls right off).

sounds like you have hard water??

next time you get these, try some vinegar on a rag (soak the rag and wipe down the windshield)- be sure to buff off after- a good glass cleaner is another choice after the vinegar. buff after with a dry mf... then re-synethic.

By hard water what exactly do you mean? And what zaino product are you talking about? I'm unfamiliar with zaino. Would scraping off with a razor blade while holding the hose too it be a bad idea? Or will it even work?

For those with hard water ( water with a high mineral content, especially calcium) the long term answer may be an in line water softener/de-ionizer that removes the minerals. For removing those stubborn water spots that won't come off with the above recommendations I would suggest using glass polish, a small random orbital with glass pads attached. Then, after the spots are removed, apply your synthetic sealant.

agree- if its hard water, a filter is a good idea- any spots you see on the glass are also on the paint and are not good for your paint (they can etch in the worst case)

zaino is good for glass, but several other synthetics work too... they will get wiped off by windshield wipers after not too long if you use the wipers. again, i find that i do not need wipers- but i better say that this is a very personal choice- if you can not see perfectly without the wipers on, you should use windshield wipers.

zaino (z2) lasts for several months... and is easy to reapply

i dont like razors on glass cause you can accidentally scratch - there are times when a razor makes sense (removing stubborn stickers for example), but you gotta be very careful.

Aquapel is better than Rain-x. Try harbor freight or tirerack.com to find it.

Zaino glass cleaner should take the spots off. It is the easiest way that I have found for removing the film left by Rain-X.

Zaino ClearCoat polish works fine as a window treatment. It lasts for months and does not leave a film like Rain-X.

Thanks guys. I have the Z12 glass polish, Z2 clear thing, and their famous Z6 quick detail on the way. The reviews on the Z12 say they remove tough waterspots so im hoping it works.
