That's the problem. You should get AT LEAST 2 coats, but most get 3. One guy said he got six, but I'm not sure if I can believe it.
The trick is thinking in lines. Go in that line one way, all the way down the car's panel and don't go back over that spot. You just have to have faith the zaino went on (trust me, it did). A little Z6 on the applicator (some use water) will help in applying it thin.
This is why I can apply it so fast and so thin. It's just quick strokes up and down for vertical surfaces or bumper to bumper for horizontal surfaces. It takes no time and no energy. No need to push down on the applicator and rub it in. It just glides on. I think some people try to apply it like wax.
I believe with ZFX, some people are having mixed views on the directions where it says to swirl one layer of it. Whatever your view on that is, still only glide it on. I'm personally a line guy cause it's easy and fast and gets amazing results. Using the line method really makes the edges shine like crazy.

Im with shizon on this - too much for one application.
It was literally drying as it went on - my guess it was nice and sunny too ?
anyways, when you do it next time - cut the mixture down, or apply the multi layers or use up your non zfx'd polish and keep working on the thin lines thing

I spoke to Zaino today.
He said that yes I probably put it on too thick. According to him, it should be so thin that
when it's being applied, you shouldn't be able to see it from a few feet away.
The point he made was that everybody has a slightly different technique for applying it.
None of them bad or wrong!
And, the stuff can not harm the car! So, He felt that getting used to these products
might take a few applications to learn just how to apply it properly.
He also mentioned that he ALWAYS uses Z6 spray (extremely sparingly) as the final
removal step. And, that 1 ounce of Z2 or Z5 should yield 2 coats.

all the above is true (obviously) or he wouldnt have told you so.
can you clarify a point - uses Z6 for the final removal step?
did you take him to mean that after the polish is wiped off, that he gives a quick Z6 spray and wipe?

ahhh . . . breathing sigh of relief.
thats what i wanted to be clear on, not so much for myself, but that others dont get a wrong idea.
yea, doing a Z6 after the polish removal, reduces the static charge on the paint and that helps reduce dust attraction, as well as make it a tiny bit shinier and noticeably slicker
I love that stuff
