Time to detail car - Anyone do this for me?
Any of you guys do quality detailing for others in the club? How much? Do you know what products to use and exactly where to use them? I'd do it myself, but I don't have all the stuff and I'm nervous I'll put the wrong stuff somewhere and screw some surface up. PM me if you REALLY know your stuff and you've done this for others who can provide a positive reference. I'm in Northridge, but I'd drive up to an hour or so for the right kind of job. Bought the car in July and I want to get a protectant coat on it before the winds pick up.
Thanks,
Dave

I'm sure there are many from the SoCal group than can drive up ?
But I like to think doing a search and then trying it out yourself is more rewarding.
Screwing up is part of the fun.
I remember when I started, I was adding swirls to my paint right after I thought I was wiping it clean... little did I know.
just my $.02

I'm just like you - totally scared out of my wits that I'd screw up my new awesome ride.
BUT!!
I read through these forums, sought out advice, and do it on my own - and my Suzuka Blue looks better than it did when I bought it with 10 miles on her!!
You gotta use MF towels.
After that, I think there's some debate over what works best and so on, but for me here's what I use and I've got no damage to my paint:
MF towels for cleaning, washing, applying, and drying
Meguires Shampoo for the wash
Eagle 1 Wax as you dry for the wax
Eagle 1 Detail spray for the occasional dirty spot
Wanabe is the man, he'll set you straight if you listen!!
cheers

Check this site out... www.autopia.org They're nuts about detailing there and you'll find more information than you'll ever need.
