Tar/asphalt removal
Drove on a newly laid road and the tar/asphalt had still not set so have streaks and spots of tar on the front fenders around the wheels.
Obviously, the tar set on my paint. Washed the car tonight but soap/water worked on easy bits and still have streaks. Do not want to use fingernails for fear of scratching the paint so looking for ideas to easily remove hardened tar whilst avoiding scratches and protecting the paintwork.
Thanks.

Also, WD-40 will work. I've used it for years for tree sap and, especially, tar removal. You can spray it directly on the surface or on a cotton towel. Gently rub. Don't do it in direct sunlight. Have some car-wash soap handy to remove the oily residue. Won't hurt your paint if not left on the finish. Clay bar works, too.
