Swirls and Zaino
Alright...I tried searching and every thread I came across was from 2002 when our old friend wanabe was just realizing how great Zaino and the PC are together, so know I tried.
I keep my car garaged 80% of the time, with it only being outside 10 days a week or so when I take it to my office that does not have the garage and it does not sit under a car cover.
However, I still am getting slight swirling and the first time I PC'd, I don't think I worked the polish enough. I really want to get back to using Zaino as I enjoyed it very much and did not mind the start up effort. But my questions are these:
1) If I use my PC will Z-5 remove swirls as well as say SFX-1 or a 3M product.
2) Will Z-5 remove any type of surface scratch?
3) If no, should I use a more cutting polish first, then move onto the entire Zaino process?
4) What pads do are suggested in using Zaino with a PC? I know Sal discourages this, but I'd be anxious to try it out.
5) If I go through the Zaino process do I still apply AIO and p21s like I did with my other polishes?
6) If so, before Z-6 or after?
Alright...If you can answer any or all I'd truly appreciate it!
Thanks, Chris

1. no
2. no... only fill them
3. yes
4. I wouldn't use pads with zaino. No benfit and it wastes product
5. Leave AIO out. P21s can go over the top of Z2
6. Z6 is a detail spray. It gets used last and inbetween washings.

hey chris-
how bad are those swirls?
if not so bad, a glaze or swirl filler might do it...
or if they are bad and/or you just want to get rid of them you would need a real swirl remover.
based on your comments, i am guessing that a glaze or paint cleaner might be your solution (they do not remove much if any of the clear coat, and usually can do the job- especially with light swirls).
the 3m product is my fav for a glaze on black cars-
if you want to use the pc to apply and remove your zaino, i use a black pad (no cutting action) to apply (yes, it takes more product and lotsa guys give me grief, but i like the results- i can put on a very thin layer more evenly than i can do by hand).
i remove with a lambswool pad under a micro fiber bonnet-

woops... mod mess-up (sorry about that)!!
accidentally deleted the original posters of the below info-
if they want to copy and repost i can delete this one!
(otherwise this thread will stay like this)

My car is outside only 70% of the time yours is. Maybe try not to use more time than physics allows.
Sorry, I have nothing to offer this thread but a bump.

wanabe- what kind of pads are you using that have black? I've only seen orange, white, blue, yellow, etc. Not black yet...
like this:

you can use any pad that does not have cutting action for your waxes/synthetics.
am guessing that you are using sonus pads?
