Hmmmm the car was painted 2 weeks ago? I think it's bad to wax a car when the paint is that new.

If the car has was only just painted two weeks ago, you may well be seeing the swirls left behind by the buffering. Body shops will often put on an oil-based glaze to hide the swirls, but the glaze washes right off and then you see the car in all of its swirled glory!
Also remember that new paint takes about a month or so to out-gas and harden up. Did you hand wash it or take it through a car wash? It's possible that the washing procedure swirled the soft paint, especially if they had to work hard to remove the tree sap.
Anyway, wait until the paint has fully out-gassed (4-8 weeks) and then decide how you want to proceed. IMHO, it's just not worth the time, energy, and aggravation to try to hand polish the car. This is hard work, time-consuming work. If you want to remove the swirls and get the car looking real good, then you need to either (1) invest in a dual action polisher, with pads, towels, polishes, etc. ($300-$400--also plan on a learning curve) or (2) pay a professional detailer to polish and wax the car. You'll need to ask around to find a reliable detailer. The Autopia forum is a good place to begin.
As already noted, wax/sealant should not be applied to a freshly painted car for at least a month. This allows the solvents to fully evaporate. I'm not sure what to recommend you should do now. You might want to remove the wax. A good way to do so is to buy a bottle of Meguiar's Ultimate Polish, a couple of foam applicators, and several good quality microfiber towels. UP is a mild polish. But before buying the product, I would call Meguiar's customer service and ask them whether UP may be safely applied to a freshly painted car. I'm pretty sure it can be, but double-check just to be sure. M205 I know is safe for fresh paint, as is M80.
