Ok I've only used Zaino's Z5 once. My white S2000 is also only 1.5 months old. But I can't say that Z5 made much of a difference. Under certain lighting conditions at the right angle, I can still see those "swirl marks". I plan to do Z5 a couple of more time. What's your observation? What do you use to prevent, and eliminate the swirl marks?

I have no experience with it, and perhaps some one who does will answer, but I have read that the 3M Swirl Remover is very good. On the Zaino web site, it does say that it may take up to 3 applications of Z5 to eliminate some swirls, so you really should go ahead with your plan to do it a couple more times.

Now that I have applied 3 generous coats of Z5, I can say with certainty that I have not seen any difference in swirl marks. The swirl marks on my white S2000 are very fine, and not too dense. I start to think that they are there from the factory. Anyone with experience with both 3M and Zaino swirl removers please post your findings.

Hello Mavic,
It has been my experience that products like Zaino that claim to remove swirls actually attemt to hide swirls beneath a high gloss finish. The swirls are not actually removed.

Unfortunately, swirls can only be romoved by machine, hidden by hand. Go to Griots Garage and use their stuff. I used it on my black Audi and it was the only stuff that completely removed all marks.

After a month of looking at other cars under direct sun light, cars from Benz to Porche 911, Acura to Lexus, I've concluded that all cars have swirl marks. Some worse than others. Some cars looked as if it's cleaned with a broom. Better cared for cars have fine swirl marks. The bad ones are very obvious while the good ones can only be detected at the right angle. I even noticed swirl marks on new cars at the dealership today. This finding points to the importance of prevention.

If you ever come to CO I will show you a car (or three) without any swirl marks, mine. I wax my cars once a week , and dust them once a day. and if they sit more than three days i cover them. Believe me perfection is possible it is just a matter of weather or not you are willing to do what it takes to get there, and yes, I do drive and enjoy my cars.

I just finished my first coat of Z5 just an hour ago. I must say it worked great. I discovered a long scratch on left front fender after the first or second wash just after buying the car. After applying the Z5 tonight it is gone. I love the stuff.

I followed the cleaning techniques to the letter. Started with the car wash with Dawn. Then used the Claybar 18 with Z7 car wash as a lubricant. Then washed the car using Z7. After that it was on to Z1 (one coat). Then finally the Z5. I followed the Z5 with the Z6.

I plan to use the Z5 one more time then plan to put two to three coats of Z2 on after that. I will use Z6 between each coat of Z5 and Z2.

The car is so smooth that a towel will slide across the hood with just a light toss.

You could and should maybe try the Meguiars Swirl Remover. I use it on my black s2k and it works INCREDIBLY...and using only one or two light applications.
