Default Surface Imperfections

I haven't taken solid photos of my car yet but after a recent wash (due to heavy rains), I've noticed some pitting like they're indentations in the clearcoat the size of the tip of a pin needle, but they're all over the surface like someone sneezed.

I've tried Meguiar's ScratchX 2-3 times over using my PC 7424 but I think I'm going to need a heavier abrasive product but don't know what I should look for. Along with the pitting, there's some scratches that aren't coming out using ScratchX so I'm assuming I need to get more aggressive with my choice of weapons. ATM ScratchX is the most abrasive product I have aside from TW's Polishing Compound (green) which I think is not the right choice for this issue.

Any suggestions are welcome.

If Scratch X didn't correct the finish, you'll need a machine, most likely a rotary.

Can you post a picture of your problem? If the paint is really pitted as you say that's not something you can polish out.
