Default Superhydrophobic coating

My girlfriend just sent me this link that showcases some research at Sandia Labs. I guess after showing her dozens of forum posts with water beading on freshly waxed cars, she has to one up me...

Casting aside the whole detailing thing for a minute, that's pretty fascinating stuff. In some of the clips, it looks like the treated surface is almost vibrating, with the way the water droplets just dance around on it.

How cool. Thanks for sharing that link.

i wouldnt mind applying it to a customer's car if that kind of thing ever became available... it just probably wouldnt be cheap... remember, cars can still get swirl marks!
