Stripping paint from aluminum.

Stripping paint from aluminum.
Not sure if this is the right subforum to post this. Feel free to move if it isnt.
Does anyone know what product I can use to remove paint out of an intercooler? I tried acetone and it comes off easily, the problem is that when they painted it, the paint went almost 3/4-1" deep into the fins. I would like to soak it in some solution and them maybe wash it off, but not sure what to use.
The reason why I want to remove the paint is so that I can have it annodized. The annodizers did not want to do it as they said once they apply current, the painted parts will see a higher portion of the current going through them possibly eating up the aluminum.
See pics below, thanks. Joaquin

If the intercooler is symmetrical, you can just install it backwards?
NCSU, I know painting is an option but I rather not go that route.
I tried contacting KW to see if they can swap it out with me paying a fee, but getting through to them is like trying to call the whitehouse and expect Bush to pick up the phone.
Thanks for the suggestions,
Joaquin

dparm,
You are right !! I used that about 10 years ago to strip wheels ... I will pick some up on the way home and test it out.
I will keep you guys updated on whether it works out or not.

Aircraft remover. Available at any auto parts store...dissolves paint instantly, smells horrible, and will give you cancer if you inhale it. Great stuff.
I just picked up my black anodized IC today too. Anodizing is definitely a better way to go than painting.
A friend of mine got his done the same time and had to strip (previous) paint off. I brought it to a local metal stripping shop, they charge $40-$55.
I hope it works out in the end!

OK guys,
I spent a few hours this weekend stripping the paint using Aircraft Remover ... it worked 85%, and thats as much as I am willing to devote to this project ...
Tomorrow I am taking it again and having it annodized, if it gets a hole due to the paint left on it I will just buy another core and have the end-tanks rewelded to it.
